In 1993,  Parkman founded Counseling Options Providing Empowerment (C.O.P.E.)  Personal Development & Training Center in the heart of Detroit.

 

Since its founding, C.O.P.E. also known simply as, “COPE,” like many other non-profits, has been affected by major budget cuts in the city. Thanks to the Internet, the program currently serves its clients as an online outreach program that actually has broader potential reach.

 

SERVING

Through her years at C.O.P.E., Dr. Parkman has witnessed first-hand how violence and misuse of drugs and sex are destroying our youth and consequently our future through, “Untimely death, delay and denial.”

 

Online and off, as Executive Director of C.O.P.E., Dr. Parkman leads a licensed staff of counselors in helping the citizens of Detroit deal with the tremendous pressures of daily living in an ever-changing world. C.O.P.E. is a leading human service provider, providing qualified experts, teaching, and training leaders to serve as effective agents of change.
